N-League attracts 30, PML-Q 16 member of forward bloc

LAHORE ( 2008-09-17 23:18:46 ) :In a show of political strength, the PML-N attracted 30 members of PML-Q forward bloc, while 16 attended the Q-League at separate meetings here on Wednesday.

The N-League’s MNA Capt. Safdar hosted an Iftar dinner at Jati Omra Farm House of Mian Brothers, where 27 parliamentarians of Q-League’s forward bloc ensured their participation, while three others could not attend the event due to their personal engagements.

Those attended the PML-N Iftar party included Atta Manika, Malik Aitebar Khan, Malik Zahoor Anwar, Dr Mukhtar Bart, Muhammad Ajmal, Saqlain Anwar, Sultan Sikandar Bharwana and Muhammad Yaqoof.

Capt Safdar told media men that three forward bloc members Khalid Mahmood Sargana, Zobia Rubab Malik and Fateh Muhammad Buzdar had extended their full support to the N-League, however, they could not attend the dinner following their personal appointments.

PML-N leaders including its Punjab President Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa and Raja Ishfaq Sarwar were prominent on this occasion.

Meanwhile, a total of 62 PML-Q parliamentarians including 16 of its forward bloc attend the party’s parliamentary meeting at Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Palace. Najaf Sial, Malik Iqbal Langriyal and Col. Abbas (Retd) were prominent among the forward bloc members.

While briefing the media, the Q-League leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi blamed the N-League of being involved in ‘horse-trading’ after its separation from the ruling coalition led by the PPP.

He claimed that only 22 members of the forward bloc attended the N-League’s Iftar party, adding they would soon come back to their party fold.

To a question, he said they would decide whether to join PPP or PML-N at a later stage.

Chaudhry Zaheeruddin and other ‘Q’ leaders also accompanied Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at the press conference.
