Suicide bombers may hit Karachi


Following Marriott Hotel suicide attack on Saturday, the federal government has directed all provincial governments to further beef up their security arrangements, Aaj TV channel on Tuesday reported.

Moreover, the channel said that the Ministry of Interior in a letter written to Sindh government has warned that banned outlets and militants might carry out terrorist activities and suicide attacks in Karachi.

The ministry asked the provincial government to review its security plan and enhance the deployment of Law Enforcement Agencies on and around all important public, private buildings, consulate generals and shopping centres. Meanwhile, the consul generals of United States and France called on Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and discussed with him security steps being taken by the provincial government.
