JERUSALEM ( 2008-09-17 13:24:13 ) :Voting started on Wednesday in Israel where the governing Kadima party is picking a new leader to replace scandal-plagued Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Voting started at 10 am (0700 GMT) and was scheduled to conclude 12 hours later, with 74,000 members of the centrist party eligible to vote at any of the 114 polling stations set up around the country.
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz are the clear opinion poll favorites in the race for the Kadima leadership that could also give the winner the premiership if the party garners enough parliamentary support.
