Anti-India protest demos in major parts of IoK

In Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) forceful protest demonstrations were held in Gandhu area of Kishtwar against the custodial killing of a civilian by Indian occupation troops.

The troops arrested a shopkeeper, Muhammad Aslam Malik, son of Muhammad Iqbal Malik, when he was on his way to home and later killed him in custody on Tuesday, KMS reported.

Raising slogans against India and in favour of freedom, the residents demanded strict action against the guilty troopers.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people took to the streets at Khanpora in Baramulla town and blocked the Baramulla-Uri highway for a couple of hours against the arrest of four youth by the troops.

Locals said that the youth were arrested for taking part in the recent pro-freedom processions in Baramulla. "We are being arrested for taking part in peaceful processions, while in Jammu, authorities withdrew cases under the Public Safety Act against those who attacked and injured Kashmiri drivers, looted their goods and forced economic blockade," they said.

The demonstrators raised high-pitched anti-India and pro- liberation slogans on the occasion. Massive anti-India demonstration was also staged in Shopian.
