At least 75 militants have been killed and as many others injured during 14 days operation of security forces against miscreants in restive Koza Bandai in Tehsil Kabal in Swat district.
According to Swat Media Centre’s press release issued here on Wednesday, the security forces have inflicted heavy losses to militants and miscreants in their stronghold Koza Bandai. During clashes, about 75 militants were perished and as many injured in Koza Bandai.
The operation was specifically designed to slowly bleed and attrite the miscreants in their strong hold. After suffering serious setbacks, frustrated militants looted the houses and shops before living the area. The security forces, after clearing Koza Bandai last Wednesday morning, have started cleaning the area from mines and IEDs to make its safe for residents of Koza Bandai so that they can return to homes without any fear and live peacefully.
The security forces have greatly appreciated the cooperation extended by locals in vacating their houses before start of operation and later in evicting the militants from the area.
The authorities have assured the affected people of Koza Bandai for compensation in due course of time. Hectic efforts are being made to restore all basic amenities of the affected areas. Curfew has been relaxed from 7am to 7pm in Swat valley. Life remained peaceful in Swat as shops and markets remained open and people carried out their routine activities.
